1. Make sure your profile is updated.
I’ll make this one easy for you. Look at this list and make sure you can check off each bullet when you are updating your profile.
- Your name and description clearly reflects who you are and what you do. This may have slightly changes since you last updated your Pinterest! Here’s an example of a strong name and description (if I do say so myself).
- Change your background to a horizontal photo or video that showcases your ideal client AND your brand.
- Don’t forget about your profile photo as well! Make sure your profile photo is an image of you and/or your team. Your ideal client wants to see real people behind the business.
2. Showcase only Pinterest boards that are relevant to your business.
Take a look at your boards and make sure every. last. one. is relevant. This doesn’t mean you have to give up those “Foodie” or “Dream Home” boards, just make them a SECRET. You might find that you need to create some new on brand boards. If you do this, be sure to add a board description to help your ideal client: 1. Find the board and 2. Know what to expect.
3. Create new content
Now that you have given your Pinterest profile a refresh, start creating brand new content. I use Pinterest Trends to find popular topics to guide my content strategy. Think about how you can relate the latest trends to your business. This could be new pins that link to helpful blog posts or better yet, an idea pin that gets them inspired and excited to plan their wedding. I dive deep into this in my course too.
Start working on your content sooner rather than later so you will be able to relax around the holidays and new year. Schedule out your standard pins on a platform like Tailwind. Then all you have to do is add those Idea Pins directly on Pinterest as your schedule allows. 4. Follow like-minded vendors
Go follow other like-minded vendors so that you can share each other’s content and inspire your dream clients! These can be vendors you already know or similar profiles you discover. Supporting others’ content will encourage them to do the same.
